The Electoral Commission (EC) has commenced display of the Village Women Residents Register ahead of nationwide elections for Women committees and Councils.
The display of the Village Women Residents Register will be conducted for a period of two (2) days, starting Thursday 23rd and Friday 24th June 2022, at display centres in all villages/cells across the country.
According to the Ag. EC spokesperson Paul Bukenya, the purpose of the display is to enable all the women who registered to confirm that their particulars were correctly captured.
The display will also enable the public to recommend the removal of ineligible person (woman) from the Register ahead of elections for Village Women Committees and Women Councils from villages up to national level.
