Uganda’s Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja and the minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Eng. Hillary Onek have finally agreed to put their diffrences aside and work together for the betterment of the country.

The agreement between the two follows the intervention of the Vice President Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo in what seemed like another scandal in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) when Eng Onek accused his boss for usurping his roles and micromanaging the OPM.

“We have had a good meeting and agreed to work together. We have decided to leave certain issues in the past and work for the betterment of our country,” Alupo revealed after a closed-door meeting with Nabbanja and Onek.

In a letter to Hon Nabbanja, Eng. Onek, expressed displeasure over Nabbanja’s work methods and threatened to resign his office if the Prime Minister was not change. Nabbanja also responded reffering to Onek’s move as an act of indiscpline.

According to a statement issued on Thursday, the meeting was held at Vice Presidents office and also attended by Gen. Moses Ali, the Second Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Leader of Government Business in Parliament, and Lucy Nakyobe the Head of Public Service and Secretary to Cabinet.

“We have agreed to look ahead and forget the past. we are one” VP Alupo emphasized.

The others in the meeting were Attorney General Kiryowa Kiwanuka, Dr. Baryomunsi Chris the Minister of Information, Communications Technology and National Guidance and Esther Anyakun the State Minister for Relief, Disaster Preparedness and Refugees.
