UCU Mukono welcoming first year students despite COVID-19 disruptions

Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono is receiving applications for First Year students as the institution continues to roll out education programs despite disruptions by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The University administration is also welcoming continuing students who started their advent semester virtually on 22 August, 2021 as the institution continues to exploit e-learning technology systems in this covid-19 era.

According to the Univetsity Vice Chancellor, Aaron Mushengyezi, UCU students have progressed well in their studies, thanks to ODeL system the administration adopted immediately after government closed education institutions in Uganda as a measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus infections in the country.

In a memo, the Vice Chancellor commended UCU staff for the commendable work to keep the university operational and ensuring that students continue to learn despite Covid-19 challenges.

“We commend you for your resilience and for adapting well for the e-learning technology in this ‘business unusual'” Ass Professor Mushengyezi said.

Mr Mushengyezi said, UCU has continued to upgrade the ICT infrastructure to support e-learning and other operations and he expects students and staff to have a good user experience when all the upgrades are completed.

According to the memo, First Year students will begin this advent semester online on Friday September 24, 2021, while completing students will graduate virtually on October 22, 2021.

Currently, the admission office is receiving applications for First Year students through the university website www.ucu.ac.ug or through emails at admissions@ucu.ac.ug Admissions can also be hand delivered to the main campus in Mukono or to regional campuses in Arua, Mbale and Kabale.
