Former State Minister Hon Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde has been appointed National Resistance Movement’s Director in charge of Mobilization.
According to NRM’s Director of communications Hon Emmanuel Lumala Dombo, Seninde’s appointment has also been unanimously endorsed by the party’s highest decision-making organ -the Central Executive Committee, for the position.
Seninde will now take office formerly occupied by Hon Mathius Kasamba who died in April 2021.
Dombo said upon nomination by president Yoweri Museveni who is also the NRM chairman, Seninde’s name was forwarded to CEC where members gave it a nod. This website established that Seninde’s appointment was one of the outcomes of the NRM CEC meeting that was held yesterday at State House Entebbe.
Hon Rosemary Seninde missed out on the cabinet list following the January 2021 elections in which she lost the Wakiso District Woman MP seat to National Unity Platform’s Ethel Naluyima. Previously, Seninde has been the State Minister for Primary Education where she has served since June 2016. She had been Woman MP Wakiso District since 2001.
According to Dombo, the NRM Secretary General Hon Richard Twodong is set to formally write to Seninde notifying her about her new appointment.
The late Mathius Kasamba had been appointed to head mobilization and cadre development in June 2020, in the party’s preparation for 2021 general election campaigns.
