Thugs break into late Archbishop Dr Cyprian Lwanga’s Home, steal valuables

Police in Naggalama are hunting for the yet unidentified thugs who broke into the Late Arch Bishop Dr Cyprian Kizito Lwanga’ home located in Kyabakadde Kyampisi Sub county Mukono district and went away with money amounting to shs 250,000/= and two mobile phones.

According to the Deputy police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan area Luke Oweyesigyire, the masked thugs armed with pangas and clubs, broke into the house after cutting the perimeter wall at around 1:00am before making away with valuables.

It was also established that thugs tied the people they found in the house (including women) with ropes before executing their mission.

Oweyesigyire added that police have arrested one of the home occupants who went missing at the time of robbery and happened to report back in morning at around 6:00am. The suspect, according to Owoyesigire, is helping police in it’s investigations.

Preliminary investigations indicate that he might have connived with thugs.

By press time, Police had cordoned off the late Archbishop’s home and could not permit access to the home members for an interview but some of the stolen items had reportedly been recovered.

The suspect is detained at Naggalama police.
