The Ministry of Health, on Thursday confirmed 21 new cases of COVID-19, the highest registered in a day since the outbreak of the virus in Uganda.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 160 in the country.
“All the new cases are truck drivers confirmed from the 11,593 samples,” the ministry said in a tweet on its official twitter handle.
The new cases include; Ugandans, Kenyans, Tanzanians and South Sudanese who arrived via Mutukula, Busia and Elegu borders.
According to the health ministry, all the 303 community samples tested negative of COVID-19.
A total of 1,896 samples were tested on Thursday. So far, 63 people have recovered from the deaded virus.
