Lubaga South MP, Hon. Kato Lubwama’s health condition is in jeopardy according to latest reports.

Kato’s health condition deteriorated at the beginning of this week when he suffered a stroke and rushed to Medipal Int. Hospital in Kololo where he has been hospitalized up to today.

A family friend who preferred anonymity told this website that the comical legislator’s heartbeat increased to abnormal levels, a condition that has not changed since then.

Kato has a medical history of cardiac issues that saw him rushed for an operation in India in 2015.

According to an admission report that this website saw, Kato is admitted with “Complex medical problems” that require an urgent surgical operation.

Kato was also diagnosed with colon cancer immediately after his return from India.

However, the complexity of the matter was further worsened by a huge bill which the legislator has failed to foot, yet doctors say his operation is due this week.

A source also indicate that Kato’s surgical operation requires Shs 60 million which the family has not been able to raise.

The last part of the puzzle is the high heart beat rate (HBR) which doctors say has failed to normalize yet the operation cannot be possible with a HBR measuring 220 – 240 per minute.

Doctors say with such a high HBR, an operation on Kato’s heart is not possible even if funds were available.

The legislators medical insurance has not saved the situation because the 60 million medical bill is outside the threshold in the package offered by parliament.

Kato’s fate now lies in the hands of well-wishers who have started donating to raise the required fees.

By Sunday evening, Gen. Katunba Wamala, musician Moses Ssali aka Bebe Cool, and few legislators including Makindye East MP Ibrahim Kasozi had ran to his rescue.
