President Museveni has disputed reports that he had opted for a total lockdown of the country in the face of COVID-19 outbreak.
In a message posted on his social media page, Museveni said the message is a forgery because he hadn’t made such a deceleration. He said he will keep the country informed on any new measures to curb coronavirus through live broadcasts.
“My team has notified me about a forged tweet reportedly saying I have ordered a total lockdown of the country. That is false. Like I indicated earlier, I will keep the country informed of any new measures to curb Covid-19 through the usual channel of a live broadcast.” President Museveni tweeted.
Museveni said the message must have been posted by “heartless people” who are trying to alarm Ugandans. He also cautioned “them” to desist from such, henceforth.
