The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga has directed the Clerk to deny access to 3 MPs, for violating the presidential directive on mandatory quarantine.

MPs, Ssempala Kigozi (Makindye Sabagabo) Robert Kafeero Ssekitoleko (Nakifuma County) and Cissy Namujju (Lwengo District) had just returned from Dubai, but did not go into the mandatory quarantine as per the presidential directive issued last week.

The 3 legislators were not in the house at the time, but reports indicate that Hon. Sempala Kigozi accessed premises of parliament today.

The development came after members raised concern over what they called’ indiscipline’ by some of the MPs who visited Dubai and have deliberately chosen to defy the H.E President directive of self Quarantine.

Hon Bintu has asked the Speaker to issue a directive that all MPs are tested of CODIV-19 since the MPs in question were at parliament yesterday and shared the canteen with their colleagues.

The ministry of health yesterday directed all passengers who traveled from Dubai, UAE in the past 2 weeks to report to Mulago Hospital Ward 2A to have their samples taken to Uganda Virus Institute for testing for COVID-19
