Breaking: Uganda confirms its first case of coronavirus

The Ministry of Health has confirmed the first case of coronavirus in Uganda.

The case is a 36 year old Male of Ugandan nationality, who had traveled to Dubai for business four days ago.

 The victim was intercepted at Entebbe Int. Airport today on arrival at 2 am aboard Ethiopian Airlines.

The victim presented himself with high fever, and poor appetite which prompted the tem to isolate him.

He was evacuated to Entebbe grade b Hospital, his nasal swap was extracted and sent to Uganda Virus Institute for analysis and the results tested positive.

He is a resident of Kibuli Kakungulu, and currently at Entebbe Grade B, Hospital.

Minister Aceng said the passenger manifest has been retrieved, and contacts of people who traveled with him are going to be followed up to ascertain their status. Health Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng said it will be easy to acces the passengers who traveled on the plane since all are under quarantine.

The public has been called to remain calm but vigilant and to report any news of suspected cases to authorities.
