The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) will launch an investigation into the match played between Kitara FC and BUL FC, which was marred by chaotic incidents.
“The relevant bodies under the FUFA Judicial Commission have taken interest in the Uganda Cup Match #SUC59 Kitara FC vs BUL FC played on Sunday, 20th April 2025 at Royals Park stadium, Butema.” Reads the message posted on the official platforms for the National football governing body -FUFA.
This follows the game between Kitara FC and BUL FC which took place on Sunday, April 20, 2025, as a quarter-final match in the Stanbic Uganda Cup. The match was held at Butema Royal Park.
Kitara FC won the match 1-0 against BUL FC. The only goal of the game was scored by Arthur Kiggundu in the 87th minute.
However, the match was marred by chaotic incidents, leading to three red cards being issued by the referee, Henry Musisi. Titus Ssematimba from Kitara FC was sent off, along with two BUL FC players, Jeromy Kirya and Nicholas Mwere. Additionally, BUL FC’s captain, Walter Ochora, was involved in an incident where he pushed the referee.
Following these events, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) announced that they would be launching an investigation into the conduct of the match.
According to FUFA, the investigations will be conducted and corrective measures applied in accordance with football statues and regulations. if breaches by any party are found, appropriate action will be taken according to the laws.
