President Yoweri Museveni has issued a strong warning to Ugandans not to relax but remain vigilant during Christmas and End-of-year celebrations, in order to avert possible threats to citizens from ‘evil-doers’ who may want to spoil the Christmas celebrations.
In his Christmas message, the president also urged the revelers and organizers of events to cooperate with security in order to avoid the bad news.
“Countrymen and countrywomen especially the Bazukulu, as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we thank God for keeping us safe and bringing us to the end of this year. I however urge the revelers and organizers of End-of-year music shows (Bivulu), prayers to be vigilant and cooperate with security personnel and local leaders in your areas. This will deny evil-doers an opportunity to spoil our celebratory mood.” President Yoweri Museveni wrote.
Museveni and the first family went on to wish Ugandans a happy Christmas season.
