Kagadi: 7 people hacked to Death in Suspected Cult murders

Initial reports indicated that the gruesome murder was perpetuated by insurgents belonging to the Allies Democratic Forces (ADF) but the army quickly refuted the claims.

KAGADI 29 OCTOBER 2024: Seven people including children were confirmed dead in Muzizi village, Kyaterekera Sub County, Kagadi district in what is largely believed to be cult murders.

According to a statement from the army, this incident took place on Tuesday night at around 8:30 pm when members of a new cult whose name is yet to be established descended on people, most of whom are their family members and cut them using sharp objects leading to their death and others injured.

Maj. Billal Katamba, the Public Information Officer Mountain Division and Operation Shuuja confirmed the deaths but also stated that these were not ADF but suspected members of a new cult.

“The UPDF , police, ISO are already on the ground hunting for the culprits as investigations are on going to establish more details about the cult and the incident.” Major Katamba stated.

“The public will be fully updated on the progress of the hunt and the murder incident as more facts are established” he adds in a statement issued on Wednesday.
