The Uganda Police force has announced 850 vacancies for suitably qualified young Ugandans between the age of 18-23 years, seeking recruitment into the force as probationer police constables.
To join the police force, one is required to be a Ugandan citizen with a valid National Identity card, no criminal record, and with an “O” level certificate of education obtained not earlier than 2019 with at least Four credits including English and Maths.
The applicants should also be ready to undertake the requisite 12 months basic training, and must be physically and mentally fit, ready to work for long hours at times under hard conditions. They should possess good communication skills, be ready to work in nay part of the country, and must not be a former or serving officer in any of the armed forces.
According to AIGP Jesse Kamunanwire who advertized on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, hand written applications addressed to the IGP accompanied by certified copies of academic documents, photocopy of the National ID, ID of the previous schools attended, three (3) recent passport size photographs and recommendation letters from LCI, LCIII and RDC (from the respective districts of recruitment) in file folder should be delivered to the Police District/ Divisional Headquarters not later than 18th June 2022.
He says, only shortlisted candidates shall be invited for interviews on dates to be communicated. Upon successful completion of training, the recruits will receive pay under salary scale -U7.
