Singer Alien Skin Wanted over charges of Assault involving Nsambya Hospital staff

KAMPALA, 20th November 2024: The Territorial Police at Katwe and Kabalagala are actively investigating an incident involving singer Patrick Mulwana aka Alien Skin who faces charges of assault alongside several other individuals.

Preliminary findings indicate that on the night of 19th November 2024, Nsambya Hospital received a one Tumwesigye Joram as a patient, brought in by six unidentified individuals. Unfortunately, the victim was pronounced dead approximately an hour after admission. Tumwesigye is a 28-year-old male resident of Makindye Division, Kampala District.

Following the victim’s death, police says Alien Skin together with his group stormed the hospital and demanded medical forms from the attending doctor. When his demands were not met, Alien Skin and his group reportedly assaulted the doctor and the two security guards before fleeing the scene.

According to the Deputy Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan Police, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the law enforcers are actively investigating a case of murder in relation to the incident at Nsambya Hospital. He however noted that Alien Skin is being investigated in a case of “simple robbery and assault” targeting Dr. Matovu Zaidi, Muyanda Anthony, and Odongo Alex, security guards employed at Nsambya Hospital.

Owoyesigyire said the police have since recorded statements from the victims and eyewitnesses as investigations go on to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in these criminal acts.

On his personal account (X platform) Alien Skin did not deny the allegations of assault as police claims. He posted;

“There is suspicion that the hospital may have mishandled his care, or worse, engaged in unethical practices. initial medical attention was given, and we paid the necessary bills to secure treatment. His condition seemed stable and was improving, as confirmed by the attending medical team.”

Owoyesigyire says efforts are underway to have the culprits face justice.

“We assure the public that efforts are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available” Luke Owoyesigyire stated.
