Nakawa: Conman storms Police Station with a toy pistol to free a suspected thief

Security in Kampala Metropolitan is holding a one Mugume Langton on charges of impersonation after he stormed Kitintale Police Station demanding for release of a suspected thief.

According to Metropolitan Kampala police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, Langton (23) was arrested on Saturday when he went to Kitintale police station falsely claiming to be an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) attached to the Crime Intelligence Directorate.

Onyango said Langton, a resident of Namugongo in Kira Division had visited the station to inquire about a Motorcycle theft suspect who is in custody. Following his arrest, he was found with a toy pistol.

“He will be charged with impersonation and is currently being held for further investigation to determine if he’s linked to other crimes and uncover his motives.” Onyango stated.
