Dr. Kenneth Omona Olusegun has today officially handed over office to the new Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to H.E the President, Ms. Gloria Asio Omaswa.
Dr. Omona was appointed Minister of State for Northern Uganda by President Museveni in a cabinet reshuffle he made last week where he also appointed Ms. Omaswa as the new PPS. Omona has been PPS for President Yoweri Museveni for since 2020 when he took over office.
The handover ceremony took place at the Office of the President, Kampala.
The Secretary- Office of the President, Hajj Yunus Kakande who represented the Minister for Presidency, Hon. Babirye Milly Babalanda as the Chief Guest thanked Dr. Omona for the job well done.
Hajj. Kakande added that Dr. Omona was lucky because he has been able to get another appointment from President Museveni, describing it as a vote of confidence by the President to the former PPS.
“I would like to congratulate Dr. Omona for the elevation he has got to become a minister and having worked closely with the President, that means he has faith and trust in you, otherwise there are many who have left that office and have not been deployed anywhere,” he said on behalf of Hon. Babalanda.
He also advised the new PPS to have empathy for Ugandans and emphasise teamwork, saying that once she does that, her work will be executed very easily.
Dr. Omona served MP for Kaberamaido county in the 9th parliament before he was handpicked by president Museveni to serve as the deputy treasurer for the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) from where he moved to the president’s office.
