Nakaseke, Uganda – March 4, 2025: Police in Nakaseke District are investigating a tragic case of murder and attempted suicide that took place on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Kaweweta Basic Military Training School.

According to a statement by ASP Twiineamazima Sam, the PRO of the Savannah Region, the incident occurred at around 3:00 PM but was reported later at 6:00 PM at Kyinyogoga Police Station. The suspect, Lance Corporal Sserunkuma Denis, a soldier attached to the training school, allegedly shot and killed his wife, Kebirungi Kella Adyeri, before attempting to take his own life.
