Gov’t releases Official Burial program for Deceased ISO boss Brig. Gen. Charles Oluka

According to the Minister for Presidency, Milly Babalanda, the Late Brig. Gen. Charles Oluka will be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kalaki District on Saturday February 8, 2025.

Brig. Gen. Charles Oluka, the Director General of Uganda’s Internal Security Organisation (ISO), sadly passed away at the age of 68 after suffering heart complications on January 30, 2025, after a prolonged battle.

A burial program leading to his final resting place has been released.

Monday 3rd February, 2025

-The body of the deceased to be picked from Mulago General Referral Hospital by the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and taken to Kabulamuliro Church along Kampala-Entebbe Road for a prayer service.

*After the Church Service, Brig. Gen. Oluka’s body will be taken to his home in Kitovu, Kitende, Wakiso District.

Tuesday, 4th February, 2025

*There will be a prayer service for the deceased and a night vigil at his home in Kitovu, Kitende.

Wednesday, 5th February, 2025

*The deceased’s body will be taken to the ISO Headquarters for the staff to pay tribute to the fallen Director General from 9am to 10am.

*At 10:30 am, the body will be flown to Madera, Soroti and then taken to Soroti Flying School for public viewing.

*Later in the day, the deceased’s body will be taken to his ancestral village in Ousia, Kalaki District, where a night vigil will be held.

Thursday, 6th February, 2025

*There will be a prayer service for the fallen Director General at his ancestral village in Ousia,Kalaki District.

Friday 7th February, 2025

*There will be another prayer service at the late’s ancestral home.

Saturday 8th February, 2025

*Final burial ceremony in Ousia village.

*11 gun salutes will be conducted by UPDF.

*The speeches will be conducted from 9am to mid-day. Then later, the clergy will take charge until the final send-off of the late Brig. Gen. Oluka.

*The Vice President, H.E Jessica Alupo will be the Chief Mourner.
