Chief Warder of Uganda Prison Bukedea electrocuted to death

The statement from Uganda Prisons Service does not clearly indicate whether Mwanja was within the prison quarters when he met his death or out offering labour

Mwanja Moses a chief warder II inmate number 7306 of Uganda Prison Bukedea was electrocuted to death after getting into contact with high voltage cables.

According to Uganda Prisons spokesperson SC Frank Baine Mayanja who Mwanja hails from Nkono village in Iganga Town Council, Iganga District, met his death on February 8th at around 1600hrs when a tree he was cutting fell on high voltage cables electrocuting him instantly.

The statement from Uganda Prisons Service does not clearly indicate whether Mwanja was within the prison quarters when he met his death or out offering labour.

It however indicates that his body was taken to Bukedea Health center IV for postmortem and burial arrangements are underway.
