The territorial traffic Police of Kayabwe has today morning 26th Dec 2022 registered a fatal accident at Kibukuta Swamp along the Kampala Masaka highway that claimed the lives of five people.
The accident which happened at around 07:00AM involved a minibus registration number UBM 489B Toyota HIACE and a Mercedes Benz registration number UAM 445B, all vehicles were moving from Kampala side to Masaka.
According to THE PRO Traffic Police Directorate Faridah Nampiima, the deceased whose identities have not been established yet include three female adults while the 2 are male adults who were passengers in the Toyota Hiance.
Five unknown victims all occupants of the Merced Benz were also rushed to Nkozi Hospital for mediacal attention.
Nampiima said the suspected cause of accident is over-speeding by both vehicles where by both vehicles were coming from the same direction and the Mercedes Benz was overtaking in a terrible speed. She said the Benz lost control knocked the Toyota Hiace which went off road and both vehicles over turned.
