The military court in Kampala has granted bail to the last batch of National Unity Party supporters who were arrested during presidential campaigns last year.

The 17 granted bail today include Eddie Sebuwufu aka Eddie Mutwe, Ali Bukeni aka Nubian Li and Daniel Onywerot aka Dan Magic, all who were part of the 49 arrested in December in Kalangala District while on Robert Kyagulanyi’s campaign trail.

They were later charged with inciting violence and illegal possession of military stores.

The general court martial chaired by Lt Gen Andrew Gutti granted them a 20 million non-cash court bail while each of their sureties were bonded at 50 Million. The sureties include Hon Aisha Kabanda, Hon Flavia Kalule Nabagabe, Lewis Lubongoya and Nyanzi Fred Ssentamu.

The group were also ordered to report twice a month before the court registrar and their movements only restricted within Kampala and Wakiso Districts. They were expected to be released last week but court was adjourned up to today.
