The race for National Unity Platform Flag in Central region has been finalized with heat-breaks and triumph with late approvals that saw Segirinya Muhammad picked to run for Kawempe North, Allan Sewanyana took Makindye west and Kazibwe Bashir taking Kawempe South.
In the latest document released by the NUP Elections Management Committee, Kasibante Moses was dropped in favor of Kawalya Abubakar in Rubaga North Constituency, and Ssempala Kigozi Sajjalyabenne lost the card for Makindye Ssabagabbo.
The latest approvals missed the spot on the initial list for Central region after the committee postponed their approval citing further consultations.
Others on the list include: Fred Kintu Lwanga – Bujumba County, Kalangala District, Edward Mande -Ntwetwe in Kyankwanzi, Kamanzi Francis- Bukoto West, Kagabo Twaha Muzeyi -Bukoto South, Nakiyemba Harriet -Masaka District Woman, Baleke Kayiira -Buwekula North, Simbwa Bruhan -Kasambya County, Nalubega Grace -Rakai District Woman, Ziridamu Paul -Lwemiyaga, Matovu Charles -Busiro South and Serukenya David -Makindye Sabagabo.
According to the committee Chairperson Mercy Walukamba, all candidates who are aggrieved by their results have the right to petition the Executive Board. A panel has been put in place to handle all appeals expeditiously.
