Security at parliament has arrested a man carrying a human head allegedly taking it to the speaker Rebecca Kadaga.
The man whose identities are yet to be identified was intercepted by security at the eastern gate of parliament just opposite National Theater with a human head allegedly packaged as a “gift” to the speaker.
There was commotion and heightened security as police officers struggled to keep the “gift” away from the press to an unknown location inside the security chambers next to the gate.
The man was immediately whisked away by police as investigation teams embarked on the case to ascertain the motive and culprits behind the move.
Later, different teams of security including personnel from forensics department were observed around parliament with different gadgets as investigations kicked off.
According to eye-witnesses, the young man who looked to be in his early 30’s was smartly dressed and suspected to be in his right senses. Security at the gate insisted that he opens the “gift” only to find it out that is a human head.
The acting Director of Communication and Public Affairs at parliament Helen Kaweesa could not make a comment on the matter before the official security report is released.
Sources indicate that the young man pleaded that someone had sent him to deliver the “gift” to the speaker.
