Aspirants who wish to express interest in running for various political positions under the People Power Movement have been given two more weeks to do that -according to Mr Joel Ssenyonyi, the People Power Spokesperson.
The period for People Power nominations has been extended due to the overwhelming numbers of aspirants wishing to associate with the pressure group among other reasons.
According to Ssenyonyi, 6200 aspirants for various positions had filled People Power forms but due to transport challenges for those from areas upcountry and poor internet internet connectivity in regard to online applicants, the exercise had to be extended.

In a puzzling turn of events, former Makerere researche fellow, Dr. Stella Nyanzi picked nomination forms for People Power, a few days after she returned forms for the opposition Forum For Democratic Change (FDC) at party Headquarters.
Nyanzi is seeking to contest for the Kampala Woman MP seat currently occupied by Hon. Nabillah Nagayi Sempala. However, Nabilah has already expressed interest in the Kampala City Mayoral seat.
Speaking after picking forms, Nyanzi took a swipe at critics stating that she can pick forms from both People Power and FDC because one is a political party while another one is a pressure group.
“You hear people say I am mad to pick these forms; I am FDC but i believe in People Power as a pressure group” Nyanzi quipped. She says she has been a People Power supporter right from its inception.
Dr Nyanzi told journalists that she is only widening the scope for her chances of winning the seat.
