Uganda Airlines Flight aborts take-off; Switches Aircrafts

Switched; Uganda Airlines CRJ900 at Entebbe Int Airport

There was a slight hiccup at Entebbe International Airport when Uganda Airlines flight UR202 heading for Nairobi aborted take-off following an emergency on the aircraft that required the attention of engineers.

The incident happened on Friday morning as the aircraft with passengers on board was heading to the runway and flight deck received an indicator flash in the cockpit signaling that something was wrong and the aircraft required mechanical attention from aviation engineers.

The captain on-board Charles Karabarinde made a decision to return the aircraft, and the flight was switched to 5X-KOB which was successful and has already returned back to Entebbe.

Early this month, Uganda Airlines received two new Canadian-made bombardier CRJ900 planes to supplement other two aircrafts of the same capacity and make that were received in April, but commenced commercial operations in August 2019.
