Pius Bigirimana has been appointed the new Permanent Secretary of the Judicary replacing the troubled Kagole Kivumbi who has been sent on forced leave.
Bigirimana takes on a caretaking role in his new office following a forced leave slapped on the outgoing PS Kagole Kivumbi with effect from today 26th July 2019.
According to a letter we saw today signed by head of Public Service and copied to the President, Bigirimana’s transfer from the Ministry of Gender and Labour Development takes immediate effect and without delay.
In another letter written by himself and copied to the Chief Justice Bart Katureebe, The outgoing PS Kagole Kivumbi directs the Commissioner of Human Resource Management of judiciary to prepare the draft of his handover notes to the incoming PS, and make arrangements for Pius Bigirimana to assume office on Monday 29th July 2019.
Kagole Kivumbi’s service at the ministry has lately been shrouded by controversies including cases of misappropriation of 34 billion shs as highlighted in the 2017/2018 Auditor General report.
Pius Bigirimana assumed office as PS in the Gender Ministry in 2013 where he has served until today.
